🥀 Muhammad bin ‘Ubayd al Rahbī mentioned and said: I heard ‘Alī bin al Misrī say:
I saw the Prophet ﷺ in a dream, and Abū Bakr was on his right, and on his left was ‘Umar, so I said, “O Messenger of Allah, these Lafdhiyyah?”
And he (ﷺ) said, “They are the Jahmiyyah.” And he ﷺ said, “There is no prayer for them.”
So I said, “O Messenger of Allah, and who will explain this to me? And who will confirm this for me?”
He (ﷺ) said, “Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Hanbal,” and he indicated with his hand to a man whose face was covered sitting to one side.
So I came and uncovered the cloth from his face, and it was Ahmad bin Hanbal, May Allah have mercy on him, and the traces of henna were fading from his beard, and his hand was on his cheek in a sad manner.
So when I woke in the morning I went to him and said, “These Lafdhiyyah,” and he said, “They are the Jahmiyyah.”
