Ja’far bin Muhammad narrated to us, Salamah bin Shabíb narrated to us, ‘Abdullah bin Abí Bakr narrated to us, from Safwán bin Sulaym, from Sulaymán bin Yasár, from Abí Hurayrah (May Allah be pleased with him), he said: The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) said:
“Indeed Allah has a pillar of light in front of Him, so whenever the slave says ‘There is no god worthy of worship except Allah’, that pillar shakes, so Allah Almighty and Sublime says to it, “Be still.”
It responds, “O my Lord, how can I be still whilst you have not forgiven the one who has said it?”
Allah then says, “Then indeed I have forgiven him.”
Then it becomes still at that.”
