‘Alī bin ‘Abdillāh narrated to us, Muhammad bin ‘Abdurrahmān Abu al Mundhir al Tafāwī narrated to us, on the authority of Sulaymān al A’mash, he said: Mujāhid narrated to me, on the authority of ‘Abdillāh bin ‘Umar (May Allah be pleased with them both), he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of my shoulder and said: «Be in the world as if you are a stranger, or a traveler» And Ibn ‘Umar used to say:
When you reach the evening don’t wait for the morning, and when you reach the morning don’t wait for the evening, and make the most of your health to make up for when you’re sick, and of your life for your death.
