Ya’qūb bin ‘Ubayd narrated to us, he said: Yazīd bin Hārūn reported to us, he said: Sufyān al Thawrī reported to us, from Zabīd al Iyāmī, al Muhājir al ‘Āmirī, he said: ‘Alī bin Abī Tālib ؓ said:
“What I fear most for you are two things: following desires, and long hopes: So as for following desires: then it blocks from the Truth, and as for long hopes: it makes you forget the Hereafter.”
