🫧 ……from al Sha‘bī, from ‘Alqamah, he said: We were with ‘Āishah when Abū Hurayrah entered, and ‘Āishah said to him, “O Abā Hurayrah, are you the one who narrates that a woman was punished because of a cat of hers, she never fed or gave drink to?” He responded, “I heard it from him,” meaning the Prophet ﷺ. ‘Āishah said, “Do you know what the woman was? Verily the woman, apart from what she did, was a disbeliever. Verily the believer is more honourable to Allah than that He would punish him over a cat. So when you narrate from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then see how you narrate.”
